On September 27, BCVT will host the first Tech Meetup event in Veliko Tarnovo! The theme, “Heroes of Brain and Logic”, is dedicated to technology and discussions led by artificial intelligence!

During the event, the following speaker will take the stage at BCVT:

• Yavor Mihailov is an experienced and dedicated software developer with over 10 years of experience in various areas — from web application and service development, large-scale systems with event-driven architectures, to cloud automation. He is product-oriented — his passion is not just writing code, but seeing how his creations bring value and are used by people. He has worked for leading companies in his field, such as SiteGround, VMware, and Yotpo. Outside of his professional work, Yavor is involved in building communities and organizing events for the BGPHP & Laravel Bulgaria group.
  
   

About the lecture:

This session will introduce Apache Kafka — what it is, how it works, and where it finds its best applications. The speaker will share real-life examples and explain when Kafka is the most suitable solution and when it might be unnecessary complexity. Practical tips, tricks, and lesser-known features will also be provided to help you get the most out of the technology.

• Lyubomir Filipov is an IT specialist with over 15 years of experience and a Manager at the international company Jakala. He consults Fortune 500 clients, leads international teams, and designs architectures for large-scale software systems. He is a speaker at international conferences, a lecturer at Veliko Tarnovo University “St. Cyril and St. Methodius,” and an organizer of hackathons and IT events. This lecture will introduce underrated Git features — what they are, how they work, and how they can significantly improve your workflow. The speaker will showcase clever tricks, hidden capabilities, and explain what Worktrees are, sharing real-world examples of when these functionalities are most useful. You will receive practical advice on how to reduce the time spent resolving merge conflicts and get the most out of Git, turning yourself into a true “office wizard” of version control.
