On September 27, BCVT will host the first Tech Meetup event in Veliko Tarnovo!
The theme, “Heroes of Brain and Logic”, is dedicated to technology and discussions led by artificial intelligence!
During the event, the following speaker will take the stage at BCVT:
This session will introduce Apache Kafka — what it is, how it works, and where it finds its best applications. The speaker will share real-life examples and explain when Kafka is the most suitable solution and when it might be unnecessary complexity. Practical tips, tricks, and lesser-known features will also be provided to help you get the most out of the technology.
This session will introduce GitHub Codespaces — what it is, how it works, and how it can provide an instantly ready-to-use cloud development environment. The speaker will share his experience from several years of teaching PHP from scratch, demonstrate the real-world use of Codespaces from day one, and explain how it benefits both developers and businesses. You will receive practical tips and guidance on how to make the best use of this technology to speed up your work and avoid unnecessary complications.
He enjoys experimenting with a wide range of technologies, from good old VanillaJS to TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and useful tools like Redux, SCSS, and Vite.
A proud NeoVim enthusiast, Georgi finds joy in making programming as smooth and efficient as possible (and yes, he will happily talk about keyboard shortcuts for hours).
When he’s not working with CSS or shaving milliseconds off his workflow, you’ll likely find him spending time with his wife and daughter. Weekends might involve road trips, mountain hikes, relaxing fishing, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen — all activities that, like programming, require a mix of focus, patience, and a touch of creativity.
About the lecture:
This lecture will introduce underrated Git features — what they are, how they work, and how they can significantly improve your workflow. The speaker will showcase clever tricks, hidden capabilities, and explain what Worktrees are, sharing real-world examples of when these functionalities are most useful. You will receive practical advice on how to reduce the time spent resolving merge conflicts and get the most out of Git, turning yourself into a true “office wizard” of version control.
About the lecture:
This session will explore the use of AI for programming — which are the most popular web application generators, how they work, and in which cases they are most suitable. The speaker will compare their strengths and limitations, discuss the pros and cons of generated code, and share practical tips on how to boost your productivity through the effective use of these tools.
The lectures will be conducted in Bulgarian.
